Khmer Ceramics Centre – a preservation of an age old industry by Pushpitha Wijesinghe
Summary – Ceramics have become more than just pots to cook in, today; they have become pieces of art and collectors’ items. The Khmer Ceremics Centre is dedicated to producing pieces of work that are both beautiful and functional.
With the iconic Angkor Wat residing in the backyard of Siem Reap, the city offers a good source of culture and history. The artisans of that era have lured millions of people to see this famous UNESCO World Heritage Site that inspires all. Today, Siem Reap offers a cosmopolitan feel that is tinged by French colonial architecture and old world charm. There are several tourist attractions to see in the city, and those among the top are the Angkor Wat, Wat Bo, Wat Preah Prom Rath, Landmine Museum and numerous others.
Shopping in Siem Reap is an intriguing experience. From the luxurious Cambodian silk to budget handicraft items there are many things to take home as a souvenir of your travels.
