Many people love the simplistic and old-fashioned charm of pine furniture rugby. With its hallmark knots and creamy-yellow hue, it easily fit in with many surroundings. This soft wood is ideal for manufacturing furniture for the whole house. It also lends itself to painting and adding personally crafted touches.
Because pine is a more delicate wood, there are precautions that must be taken to protect it. Pine does not fair well in areas with more moisture such as basements; the wood will actually absorb it and cause it to warp. This problem can be avoided by coating the wood in a waterproof protectant. Likewise, if a container such as a drinking glass is placed on pine, it can leave a ring unless a coaster is used. There are a few things people need to look out for when they are selecting this type of furniture as well with regards to quality and craftsmanship. If there are too many knots or knots that form holes in the wood, it can actually weaken it meaning that the furniture may be less stable and not last as long. Drawers should pull out easily without sticking, and walls should be plumb even, where applicable. If there is a stain or varnish used on the surface it should be evenly applied.

The thing some people like about pine as outdoor furniture is that it can “weather” naturally to create a charming old-fashioned look. The use of pine furniture in the kitchen or dining area creates the warmth and homey feeling associated with a country kitchen or quaint cabin. Full dining sets consisting of round or rectangular tables with accompanying chairs are the focal piece normally, with nice accents including cabinets, microwave carts, side tables, and smaller accent pieces such as paper towel holders, spice racks, curio shelves and such that are meant to set off and complement the kitchen decor. This is often where people like to add personal touches like stencil patterns to unify all pieces with the chosen theme.
For the bedroom, pine is also a very suitable type of furniture. It has a clean simplicity, yet relaxing peace that should be in a bedroom. Such pieces normally included a bed with frame and headboard, nightstands, dressers of preferred size and possibly a mirror. Other additional furnishings may be added, depending on the room size, such as chest, dressing table and wardrobe. Some people like to paint and decorate their bedroom fixtures, others prefer to choose a stain.
Pine living room furniture adds an informal relaxed atmosphere to the room. Usually these pieces consist of wooden framed sofas and chairs with cushions on top of the frames that are available in different finishes and stains. Accompanying them are coffee and end tables with either solid wood or glass tops and media and display cabinets in the same style. Often they have some nice details carved into the wood.
Because of its natural ability to fit in and simple classic beauty, pine furniture is an excellent choice for any room in the house.
